Samsung India has announced that the company’s latest Tizen powered offering Samsung Z1 will be manufactured in India. The Korean giant recently launched the device in India with a price tag of Rs 5700.
According to the Samsung’s Vice President of Marketing for India, the manufacturing process will take place in Samsung’s Noida based manufacturing unit.
The Samsung Z1, is the first smartphone to come with Tizen OS and has been targeted at budget buyers. The smartphone features 4-inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and runs on Tizen OS 2.3 out of the box.
Under the hood, it comes packed with 768MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a micro SD card slot for memory expansion up to 32GB. Connectivity is covered by, 3G HSPA, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro USB and GPS.
The Samsung Z1 also comes with Android apps support, which allows you to install your favorite Android apps on your Tizen running smartphone. Company has also equipped it with a 1500 mAh battery, which will keep its lights on.
Samsung Z1 has already seen an impressive demand for the device with about 50,000 units already being sold after the launch of the device in India. The Korean giant is also planning to launch Z1 in Bangladesh soon.
