Xiaomi has announced its successor to the last years launch Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 in the form of Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 in China today. The smartphone has received a design haul and now features a full metal design. Keeping with the trend, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 now comes with a fingerprint scanner at the back of the phone. The scanner can be seen just below the rear camera unit of the phone.
Before jumping into the specifications of the phone, have a look at the price of the phone. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 has been priced aggressively at CNY 899 or Rs 9500 and CNY 1099 or Rs 11500 in China for the 16GB and the 32GB variant respectively. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 price in India is not yet confirmed, and the above-given price tag is just an approximate.
Talking about the specification, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes with a 5.5-inch Fill HD 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution display that company claims to be clearly visible in direct sunlight because of the new technology introduced with the screen.
The phone features a full metal design while borrowing the design language of its predecessor. The metal body measures 8.65 mm thick and weighs around 164 grams including a massive 4000 mAh battery.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with MIUI 7 on top of it. The smartphone has been powered by a 64-bit Octa-core MediaTek Helio X10 processor coupled with 2GB and 3GB of RAM based on the variant you buy. Under the hood, it has 16GB or 32GB of internal storage but lacks the micro SD card slot for memory expansion.
At the camera front, it comes with a 13MP rear camera with PDAF autofocus and dual tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for video calling needs. Connectivity on the phone is covered by 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS for navigation.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 will be available in Gold, Silver and Dark Grey color options. However, the company has not revealed any dates about the launch of the phone in India.
